PCB Material
Most often, PCBs are manufactured with material called FR-4. In fact, F of FR-4 means F for flame, R of FR-4 for retardancies and 4 of FR-4 for # 4 epoxy. FR-4 features high flexural, impact, superior mechanical strength and bond strength at temperatures up to 130ºC (266ºF). It is possible to use standard FR-4 with minimum Tg 135ºC (275ºF) for double copper layer PCBs which might pass trough 2-3 soldering processes.
